The Penny Billionaire
Two rivals. One auction. A server who bought an empire for a penny.
Ava Bennett, a hardworking server at a top LA hotel, stood by her boyfriend Tyler for three years — until an engagement gala revealed he chose Sterling-family heiress Brianna, who poured champagne over Ava's head and made her kneel and wipe it up. Cast out penniless in the rain, a mysterious One-Cent Marketplace pops up on her phone: every day it restocks one item of staggering worth, and she only pays one cent. One cent at a time she buys back the empire and takes down everyone who humiliated her.

About the show

Ava Bennett was once merely an ordinary server at a top-tier Los Angeles hotel. Hardworking and frugal, she had stood by her boyfriend Tyler for three years. Yet at an elite engagement gala she uncovered the truth: Tyler had long betrayed her, choosing Brianna, the heiress of the Sterling family. Right in front of every guest, Brianna poured champagne over Ava's head and forced her to kneel and wipe up the spill. Tyler coldly told her she belonged nowhere but behind a serving tray. Stripped of her relationship, job, and housing, Ava was cast out into the torrential rain.
Penniless and desperate, a mysterious One-Cent Marketplace popped up on her phone. Every single day, it restocks one item of staggering worth — no matter its actual market value, Ava only hands over one cent. Clutching her last shred of hope, she buys the first item, and a pink Ferrari materializes right before her eyes.
From that moment her life is transformed. One cent at a time she acquires a Beverly Hills penthouse, private haute couture archives, a legendary blue diamond, controlling shares of the Crown Hotel, and a struggling fashion brand. The manager who threw her out is publicly fired; Brianna loses her parties, privileges, and spotlight. Ava exacts retribution on everyone who wronged her — proving a server can become a billionaire and take down an empire.

Editor's take
Our editors' notes on the opening arc — personal picks, not audience feedback.
"The one-cent marketplace is a genuinely addictive device: every day a new impossible acquisition, and the luxury buys (penthouse, blue diamond, Crown Hotel shares) land like power-ups."
"She's the villain you love to hate — the champagne-over-the-head gala is a cold opener, and every confrontation with Ava is electric. The comeuppance is paced to feel worth the wait."
Best for viewers who want a pure revenge-power fantasy with wish-fulfillment wealth and a comeuppance that lands; if you want grounded realism, the one-cent app is a magic conceit from minute one. Compared with most rags-to-riches shorts, this one keeps the acquisitions coming daily and stages the humiliation-payback loop crisply — that wish-fulfillment drive is both its strength and its limit.
