Elian wakes up every morning with a sore mouth and aching legs after the warm milk his roommate Vaughn hands him at night. He suspects the milk, secretly pours it out, and pretends to sleep. He watches Vaughn climb into his bed, hold him from behind, and whisper that three days without holding him was torture. The milk was never the problem — Vaughn was. Vaughn has been stealing forehead and lip-corner kisses while Elian slept. After the truth comes out, Elian sets a trial period and forces Vaughn to learn patience.

Episode one opens on the sore mouth. Elian wakes up asking why this spot hurts again, and Vaughn tells him to finish brushing his teeth so he can put medicine on it. The line that lands under the scene is the one Elian has not heard yet — three days without holding you was torture — whispered into his hair while he pretended to sleep.
Episode five brings the jealousy. Vaughn notices Elian has spent seven days with a friend and asks, softly, was that really a friend, or were you hiding from me? Elian says he was with a friend. Vaughn's answer is another lie. The trial period has not started yet, and Vaughn is already looking murderous about a week apart.
Episode nine opens the trial. Vaughn asks the question out loud: if I want to kiss you and make you look only at me, are you okay with that? Elian says yes. Still because we are friends? Yes. Then Vaughn says, fine — let me see how far a best friend is actually willing to go.

Our editors' notes on the opening arc — personal picks, not audience feedback.
"The opening is built on dramatic irony: the audience hears the whispered line in the dark that Elian is still pretending not to hear. The milk is the MacGuffin; the holding is the show."
"The seven-day jealousy and the trial scene bracket the turning point. The show does not rush them into a relationship — it lets Elian set the terms, which is where the slow burn actually lives."
Best for viewers who like campus boys' romance with roommates and a slow-burn reveal; if you want immediate couple status, the opening episodes stay on suspicion, jealousy, and trial terms. Compared with most BL campus shorts, this one anchors the turning point in a fake-sleep reveal rather than a public coming-out — that focus is both its strength and its limit.
