Adrian, the family heir, is getting engaged on Friday to socialite Miss Hawthorne. His adopted younger brother Noel has a condition: his skin aches unless someone he trusts touches him, and only Adrian's touch makes it stop. When Noel blocks the door and says you've touched me so you can't touch anyone else, Adrian smiles — because the engagement was never real. It was a trap he built to make Noel admit what he wants.

About the show

Source: YourChannel official drama page & player — editorial coverage based on the opening arc; series details verified 27 Oct 2026.

The opening is a dark hallway. Adrian holds Noel's jaw and asks, low, if his skin hunger is acting up again. Noel cannot lie: "You know, I have skin hunger. Only when you touch me does it stop hurting." Adrian tells him the engagement is Friday and he should keep his distance. Noel asks the question that has sat in his chest for years: "If you get married, what am I supposed to do?" Adrian's answer is flat: "You're only my younger brother." Then the butler announces Miss Hawthorne has arrived. Noel blocks the door: "Don't go see her. Because you've touched me, so you can't touch anyone else." Adrian smiles: "Noel, I'm looking forward to seeing what you'll do to me."

Cut to Hawthorne in Adrian's study. She lays out the deal: "Hawthorne gets the West City project, and you get me as a smoke screen. You only need to play the fiancé." She asks what Noel will do, and Adrian answers: "He needs a reason to admit he wants me." Hawthorne sees through him at once: "You don't want him to admit it. You want him to take you by force." At the party, Noel grabs Hawthorne's wrist where she touched Adrian's tie. Adrian pries his hand off: "You have no right to judge his fiancée. Noel, let go." Noel is shaking: "She touched here." Hawthorne watches them both: "You look like a jealous lover." Adrian calls the bluff: "Then let go. Do you dare say you don't want to chop her hand off my body?"

Adrian escalates. He has Noel's room moved to the east wing so the skin-hunger attacks will start forcing the issue. Noel panics: "What am I supposed to do if I have an attack at night?" Adrian says the family doctor will come. Noel snaps: "Doctors are useless." Adrian's final provocation is to press his hand to Noel's jaw: "You can't live your whole life depending on my hands. When it starts hurting, learn to endure it. Don't beg. Come and take it." Noel calls after him: "You say it's the last time every time." Adrian's trap is closing, and by episode five the wine cellar key is already in Noel's hand.

Standout scenes

Every cruel line is bait: a dark-hallway confession, a party over a tie, an east-wing move designed to trigger the pain. Four editorial picks from episodes 1–4 — no ending spoilers.

Episode 1

Only When You Touch Me

Adrian corners Noel in a dark hallway and asks if his skin hunger is acting up again. Noel cannot hide it: "Only when you touch me does it stop hurting." When the butler announces Hawthorne, Noel blocks the door: "Because you've touched me, so you can't touch anyone else."

Episode 2

The Tie Incident

At the party Hawthorne's hand brushes Adrian's tie, and Noel grabs her wrist in front of everyone. Adrian pries his fingers loose: "You have no right to judge his fiancée." Noel is shaking: "She touched here." Hawthorne says what the room is thinking: "You look like a jealous lover."

Episode 3

The East Wing Move

Adrian moves Noel to the east wing to trigger his attacks. Noel panics: "What am I supposed to do if I have an attack at night?" Adrian leans in: "You can't live your whole life depending on my hands. Don't beg. Come and take it." Noel calls after him: "You say it's the last time every time."

Episode 4

The Ring on the Wrong Finger

At the family dinner Adrian asks Hawthorne to hold out her hand for the engagement ring. Noel reaches out and takes it first. Adrian tells Hawthorne the ring was never meant to be worn: "It only needs to make him hurt." Hawthorne realizes what she's part of: "You really enjoy seeing him like this?" Adrian: "Only like this does he seem completely mine."

Editor's take

Our editors' notes on the opening arc — personal picks, not audience feedback.

WebDramas editorial · on the fake engagement

"The reveal that the whole engagement is bait lands early, and that's the point: you stop waiting for Adrian to be a villain and start watching him fish. 'Only like this does he seem completely mine' is the line that turns a cold heir into someone who built the trap himself."

WebDramas editorial · on Hawthorne

"Best supporting character by a mile. She's neither villain nor victim — she negotiates the West City project, plays the fiancée, and tells both men to their faces they look like jealous lovers. The fake-fiancée cliché gets a sharp, business-minded upgrade."

WebDramas editorial · the bottom line

Best for viewers who like obsessive adopted-brothers romance where the cold lead orchestrates the whole slow burn; if you want a straightforward courtship, this one runs on deliberate provocation and a medicalized dependency. Compared with most billionaire-heir BL shorts, this one makes the fake engagement a mutual game rather than a family obligation — that self-aware, cat-and-mouse edge is both its strength and its limit.
