The opening scene is a rooftop. A girl is about to jump. Someone pulls her back. The news breaks: Jade Kane, head of the Black Cobra Group, has died from injuries she suffered while trying to save someone. Jade wakes up in a hospital bed in a girl's body. She hears the family in the hallway: Nina, you vicious brat, you were jealous, Sienna got into the international piano competition so you tried to push her off the roof. She looks at her own hands and says out loud: I actually woke up in that high school girl's body.
The Sterling house. The parents yell at Nina to pack and go back to Iowa. The adopted daughter Sienna sneers that Nina used to be too scared to lay a finger on her, like an obedient dog. The brother backs it all. Jade stands up, walks to the window, and decides: now that I've taken over this body, it's time to turn the table. She tells her old crew on the phone: I got a second chance at life, I'm done with all the fighting and bloodshed, I want the college experience.
The first day of school. She walks into the hallway. A boy points at her and says she ruined his new shoes. She breaks his finger. The deskmate Jace stares. The popular girl Sienna watches from across the room. Outside Bay City, people already know Black Cobra's boss is dead, and they are lining up to take over. Nina sits down next to Jace, opens the textbook, and decides: she is going to college, and she is going to make every person who touched Nina regret it.
Brown hair, round glasses when she is trying to blend in, a school blazer and tie. Nina was brought back from rural Iowa by the Sterling family and abused until the rooftop fall. Jade Kane woke up in her body and decided to stay. She wants the college experience — and to make everyone who touched Nina regret it.
Second, I hate being pointed at. Do it again and I'll break that finger.
Brown wavy hair, grey school blazer and tie. Jace is the boy every girl in school has been trying to sit next to. He does not know she once ran a syndicate, and he becomes the one person in school she does not have to intimidate.
Blonde hair, perfect posture, the face of a girl who has never been told no. Sienna got into the international piano competition and could not stand that Nina came back to take the family. She sneers that Nina used to be too scared to lay a finger on her — and is the first to realize the quiet country girl is not coming back.
Editorial picks from the opening arc — the rooftop waking, the new girl in school, the peasant line, and Black Cobra behind me.
Jade Kane dies saving a girl on a rooftop. She wakes up in Nina's body. She hears the family blame Nina for the fall. She says out loud: I actually woke up in that high school girl's body. She decides: now that I've taken over this body, it's time to turn the table.
Jade walks into school as Nina. A boy points at her and says she ruined his new shoes. She grabs his finger and says: second, I hate being pointed at, do it again and I'll break that finger. The deskmate Jace watches and whispers: holy crap, she's badass.
Sienna corners Nina in the classroom and sneers: what do you think you're doing, you peasant? The old Nina would have flinched. The new Nina does not. Sienna is the first person to realize the quiet country girl is not coming back.
Mrs. Pryce storms the office because her son was beaten, naming the family's connection to Black Cobra's VP. Nina smiles and says: funny, I've got Black Cobra behind me, too. The underworld walks right into the school office.

Our editors' notes on the opening arc — personal picks, not audience feedback.
Jade Kane does not arrive at school with a sword, she arrives with a school blazer and a list of people to handle. The contrast between syndicate queen and classroom newbie is the whole engine.
She wants college. Bad grades, a deskmate who tutors her, piano competitions, and the roof fall that started it all. The revenge is layered over a coming-of-age story.
The Pryces, Hawk the VP, the people lining up to take over Black Cobra. The campus drama is not sealed off from the underworld; the underworld walks into the office in episode eight.
Best for viewers who like body-swap campus revenge with a crime-boss lead who wants to go to college; if you need a straight syndicate drama, this one puts the boss in a blazer. Compared with most campus revenge shorts, the comedy is a mob boss navigating homeroom — that contrast is both its strength and its limit.
