About the show

Source: YourChannel official drama page & player — editorial coverage based on the opening arc; series details verified 27 Oct 2026.

The house treats Alara as an omen from childhood. Her mother keeps her true hair a secret even inside the family: "No one can know your hair turns gold, not even our family." When the household calls her eyes a monster's and says the child will bring ruin on the house, the family settles on one compromise instead of blood: from then on, Alara wears a blindfold.

Her parents' marriage fractures over the child marked cursed. Her father takes mistresses, and within two years she has half siblings. Her mother stops fighting for her husband and devotes herself to Alara, promising to bear anything as long as they are together. The mistress mistakes that silence for weakness and demands Alara's mother surrender the lady of the manor's place; her answer leaves no room for negotiation.

After her mother dies, the household turns on Alara. She is found drowning in the pond and is accused of being the cursed child locked away by someone else. Alone and grieving, she asks why her father called her cursed and why her mother had to die, and decides that to get justice for her mother she has to escape.

In the palace Alara meets Prince Adrian for the first time. The terror of the encounter leaves her burning with fever, and she needs careful nursing with no further distress. Lucian places her under the palace's own care. Weeks of rain flood the capital and locusts strip the southern fields, and when Sabina's attack on Alara reaches the royal council, Lucian argues that cruelty against a guest of the crown cannot go unpunished.

Alara
The golden-haired girl marked as an ill omen by her house

Born with golden hair and eclipse eyes, Alara spends her childhood hidden behind a blindfold while her relatives call her a monster. Her mother is the only adult who protects her; after her mother's death she is locked away, survives the pond, and escapes the manor to seek justice rather than take another beating in silence.

"Why did father call me cursed? Why did mother have to die?" — Alara, episode 2

Lucian — The silver-haired royal heir who guards Alara in the palace

The silver-haired royal heir who guards Alara in the palace

Silver-haired, calm, and dressed in the palace's dark formal furs, Lucian takes responsibility for Alara after her fever brings her under crown protection. He is the one who carries her case into the royal council, arguing that the crown itself answers if a guest under its protection is nearly killed.

"If such cruelty goes unpunished, the crown itself will answer." — Lucian, episode 4

Sabina — The half-sister who attacks Alara and faces the council
Sabina
The half-sister who attacks Alara and faces the council

Raised in the household that treated Alara as cursed, Sabina nearly kills the girl after she enters the palace under royal protection. Brought before the throne, she begs for mercy and swears she will never do it again, but the council judges the attack against crown protection rather than a family quarrel.

"Your majesty, spare me. I was wrong. I swear I'll never do it again." — Sabina, episode 4

Standout scenes

The opening arc moves from a blindfolded childhood to a mother's defense, a pond and an escape, and a palace council judgment. Four editorial picks from episodes 1, 2 and 4 — no ending spoilers.

Episode 1

The Secret Golden Hair

Her mother locks the family secret around her daughter: no one outside may know the hair turns gold, and the eclipse eyes must never be shown. The household already sees a monster where the child stands, and the blindfold becomes the compromise that keeps her alive.

Episode 1

Not While I Still Draw Breath

The mistress pushes Alara's mother to surrender her place as lady of the manor before the lord loses patience. The woman who stopped fighting her husband will not give up her daughter's position: the answer sends the rival packing.

Episode 2

Drowning in the Pond

After her mother dies, Alara is pulled from the pond half-drowned, and the household turns the accusation against her. Grieving and alone, she questions why she was called cursed and decides she cannot stay in the manor any longer.

Episode 4

The Council Answers for Sabina

Alara enters the palace under crown protection after her fever. When Sabina's attack reaches the royal council, Lucian argues the crown itself must answer for such cruelty; Sabina kneels and begs for mercy before being taken away.

Editor's take

Our editors' notes on the opening arc — personal picks, not audience feedback.

WebDramas editorial · on episode 1

"The opening episodes do their world-building through one repeated image: a blindfold. The mother's defense gives the curse its emotional weight, so when the household later turns on Alara the audience already knows what the blindfold cost her."

WebDramas editorial · on episode 4

"The palace arc widens the stakes from family mistreatment to crown law. Lucian's council argument reframes Sabina's attack as an offense against the throne, and the kneeling apology lands as judgment rather than reconciliation."

WebDramas editorial · the bottom line

Best for viewers who like cursed-princess royal fantasy with palace protection and a loyal hidden heir; if you need early court romance, the first episodes stay in the manor's cruelty and grief. Compared with most fantasy shorts, this one leans on stigma and family betrayal before the power story opens up — that focus is both its strength and its limit.
